Professor Huang studied at Fuzhou University from 1977 to 1979; he received a Master of Engineering degree from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in 1982, and a Ph.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1990. He was a faculty member with Nanjing University of Science and Technology from 1982 to 1986. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow and research scientist in USA from 1990 to 1995. Since 1995, he has joined the Department of Automation and Computer-aided Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has served as a science advisor for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and honorary advisor of the Science Museum of Hong Kong. He has been consultant or guest professor of eight universities in mainland China. Professor Huang is a distinguished lecturer of IEEE Control Systems Society, and a member of the board of governors of IEEE Control Systems Society. He is editor at large of Communications in Information and Systems, subject editor of International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, a guest editor of a special issue of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, and associate editor of Journal of Control Theory and Applications. He served as associate editor of the Conference Editorial Board of IEEE Control Systems Society, Asian Journal of Control, and IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. He is the General Chair of 2002 International Conference on Control and Automation, Publicity Chair of 41st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, Program Chair of 2005 Chinese Control Conference, and Program Co-chair of 2006 World Congress of Intelligent Control and Automation. He has been an invited or plenary speaker in many national or international conferences or symposia. |
