Dr. WONG Wing Hung
Senior Instructor, Department of Physics
(Nominated by the Senate Committee on General Education)

Dr. Wong Wing Hung has been teaching at The Chinese University of Hong Kong since 1996, and is currently a Senior Instructor in the Department of Physics. He receives a Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award for his work in General Education, particularly the astronomy course he has been conducting in recent years. In all of his teaching, Dr. Wong looks for ways of showing connections between his own material and that of other courses. This allows students to appreciate that the knowledge they gain in every single course is part of the giant network of human knowledge. He is very aware that not all of his students have a science background, and develops learning activities that incorporate multimedia materials and demonstrations to help them grasp abstract concepts and the connection between science and daily life. Dr. Wong has played a pivotal role in developing numerous General Education courses offered by the Department of Physics.
