2017 Blackboard Upgrade     Blackboard is again the selected provider of our LMS for the upcoming five years. This summer, we will upgrade it to the latest version for improved user experiences and better performance.     This upgrade is a major one. To reduce the impact to Summer Session courses, we decided to set up a new server and perform the migration in two phases.     Continue to read about the detailed migration plan, what to expect and how you can start to prepare for this change in the following sections.

blackboard.cuhk.edu.hk   will arrive in July

Data Migration   The system is set up using the backup of the existing system (elearn.cuhk.edu.hk) taken at 3 am on May 25.       Course Migration (Part A)   2016-17 Summer Session Blackboard courses (i.e. Blackboard courses with course id starting with 2016S1-) will be migrated from the existing system to this new system in batch in August.         Course Migration (Part B)   Any other Blackboard courses which were used/updated after May 25 will be migrated from the existing system to this new system on request.       2017-18 Academic Year   2017-18 Blackboard courses will be created in this new system accordingly when CUSIS course information is available around mid-July / early August.
