Mr Chow Kwen-lim
Chairman and President of Chow Sang Sang Holdings International Limited,
Mr Chow Kwen-lim is a leader in the Hong Kong jewellery industry. Emphasizing
product innovation and diversification, his company is the first local
company to take advantage of the opportunities created by the opening up
of China to expand its business on the mainland. Mr Chow has also
held important positions in local trade organizations and contributed significantly
to the development of the jewellery industry of Hong Kong. In recognition
of his remarkable contributions, he was awarded the outstanding achievement
award.
Mr Chow has been very active in the promotion of community service,
in particular the development of trade and education in Hong Kong and on
the mainland. He is a long-time and active member of the Community
Chest, Po Leung Kuk, Caritas Hong Kong and the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent
Society. In his capacity as Shamshuipo District Board member and
president of numerous district and kai fong associations, Mr Chow has made
significant contributions to district development. Because of his
active role in district affairs, he was invited to serve as a Hong Kong
District Affairs Adviser, and made a Justice of the Peace and a Member
of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Mr Chow also devotes a lot of time to promoting economic and educational
developments in mainland China, particularly in his home town of Shunde.
He is a delegate of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference
of Shunde in Guangdong Province and is an Honorary Citizen of Shunde, Foshan
and Chengle. He is also Honorary Professor and a Member of the University
Council of Fudan University in Shanghai.
Mr Chow is also concerned with the advancement of local education.
He is member of the Board of Trustees of New Asia College of The Chinese
University of Hong Kong. Over the years, Mr Chow has made generous
donation towards student affairs, construction of student hostel, setting
up scholarships for mainland students in the University and supporting
the College language education programme. He is also a Voting Member
of The University of Hong Kong Foundation of Educational Development and
Research.
