In line with the trend in higher education worldwide, internationalisation has been identified as one of the development themes of CUHK. The term ‘internationalisation’ can be used to refer to a number of things, e.g. cross-border higher education, student exchange, academic exchange, etc. It does not only mean putting local and international students in the same classroom (Leask, 2008, 2001)*. In this regard, the University also subscribes to the concept of ‘Internationlisation at Home’ (IaH). It is our intention to ‘help students gain a global and international experience without leaving CUHK through the creation of a truly international environment at the University by embedding multicultural elements in all aspects of university life’**. Internationalising the curriculum at faculty and programme levels is thus encouraged so that more CUHK students will benefit. To guide and facilitate the development of curriculum in this direction, the ‘Conceptual Framework on Internationalisation of Curriculum’ (IC) has been developed and endorsed. The IC would only be useful if it could be translated into courses and outcomes identified. In the 2019-22 triennium, the University will sustain its efforts to encourage current and new initiatives in support of the strategic priority internationalization.
