Preparation of Nitrogen Monoxide

and

Study of Its Chemical Properties

(microscale experiment)

Sodium nitrite

亞硝酸鈉粉末

Acidified iron(II) sulphate solution

酸化硫酸鐵(II)溶液

1 M sodium hydroxide solution

1 M 氫氧化鈉溶液

Acidified potassium permanganate solution

酸化高錳酸鉀溶液

Bromine water

溴水

 

Add 100 cm3 of 1 M NaOH solution and 250 cm3

of deionised water into two different 250 cm3

beakers respectively.

在兩個250 cm3的燒杯中分別加入100 cm3

1 M 氫氧化鈉溶液和250 cm3的去離子水。

 

Check whether the pluger moves smoothly in

the syringe. Lubricate the plunger if necessary.

檢查柱塞能否在針筒內順暢地拉推。如有需要,

在柱塞表面塗上潤滑劑。

Weigh about 0.25 g of NaNO2 and transfer it

into a vial cap.

用電子天平稱量0.25 g的亞硝酸鈉粉末,然後將

其加至一個塑製瓶蓋裡。

Make sure that the NaNO2 solid is evenly

placed in the cap.

請確保亞硝酸鈉粉末均勻地分佈在蓋裡。

Cap the tip. Fill the syringe with water.

蓋上針筒口。加去離子水進到直立的針筒中。

Put the vial cap on the water surface.

把預備的塑製瓶蓋放在針筒裡水的表面。

Uncap the syringe to allow water to drain out

from the syringe.

打開針筒口讓水從針筒中流出來。

Insert the plunger, and draw about 4 cm3 of

acidified FeSO4(aq) into the syringe.

插入柱塞到針筒內, 把大約4 cm3的酸化

硫酸鐵(II)溶液抽進針筒內。

Cap the syringe immediately and shake the

syringe gently to mix the NaNO2 solid and

acidified FeSO4(aq).

即時地蓋上針筒口。 輕輕搖動針筒讓針筒內

的亞硝酸鈉粉末與酸化硫酸鐵(II)溶液混合。

 

Discharge the solution inside the syringe into

1 M NaOH solution.

讓針筒內的溶液流出到1M 氫氧化鈉溶液中。

Draw 10 cm3 of deionised water intno the

syringe. Shake the syringe to wash the gas

inside the syringe.

把大約10 cm3去離子水抽進到針筒內,以清洗

收集回來的一氧化氮。

Discharge the water from the syringe into

1 M NaOH solution. Repeat the steps of

drawing the water and discharging water

for 2 to 3 times.

讓針筒內的溶液流出到1M 氫氧化鈉溶液中。

重覆清洗步驟兩至三次。

Add 5 cm3 of acidified KMnO4(aq), Br2(aq),

and acidified FeSO4(aq) to these test tubes

respectively.

分別在每個試管中加入5 cm3的酸化高錳酸鉀

溶液、溴水和酸化硫酸鐵(II)溶液。

Inject a small amount of nitrogen monoxide

from the syringe into each of the solutions.

用針筒將少量的一氧化氮各自加入盛有不同溶

液的試管內。

Record the changes observed.

記錄可觀察的變化。

With NO(g) left in the syringe, suck in small

amount of air into the syringe by pulling the

plunger slowly. Record the observation.

將部份柱塞慢慢地拉出,令少量的空氣能夠進

入針筒內,以研究一氧化氮與氧氣的反應。記

錄可觀察的變化。
