The Ninth Young Researchers’ Conference on Chinese Translation Studies
Extension of Application Deadline
Due to the severe COVID-19 outbreak, the Research Centre for Translation would like to extend the application deadline of the Ninth Young Researchers’ Conference on Chinese Translation Studies to 31 March 2020. Conference details as follow:
With the aim to encourage young scholars to actively participate in Chinese translation studies and strengthen academic exchange, the Research Centre for Translation (RCT) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong has organised the biennial Young Researchers’ Conference on Chinese Translation Studies since 2004.
About twenty papers will be accepted for presentation, and four to five established scholars will be invited as discussants for the papers. Submissions of abstracts are now called for “‘Writing Chinese Translation History’: The Ninth Young Researchers’ Conference on Chinese Translation Studies”, to be held on 17–18 December 2020 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Eligibility: |
Assistant Professors, Lecturers, Post-doctoral Fellows, and candidates for a Master or Doctoral degree in Chinese translation studies |
Application Procedure: |
Applications with an abstract of no more than 500 words should be submitted on or before 31 March 2020 for the first round of screening.
Successful candidates are required to submit the full text of an unpublished paper before 31 August 2020 for a second review. Candidates who pass both rounds of review will be invited to present his/her paper at the conference.
All papers accepted for presentation must remain unpublished. Application form can be download from here. |
Fees & Subsidies: |
No conference fee will be charged. The organiser will provide free accommodation and meals for the conference period, and subsidize to a maximum of HKD 2500 on transportation from place of residence to Hong Kong. |
