| An Zhiyuan 安致遠 1628-1701 An was born in Shandong. His poems and essays were appreciated by his contemporaries, but he had little success in the civil service examinations. His strong interest in the history of his home town led him to become an editor of Qingzhou fuzhi 青州府志 (Qingzhou prefectural gazetteer) and Shouguang xianzhi 壽光縣志 (Shouguang county gazetteer) as well as the author of Qingshe yiwen 青社遺聞 (Anecdotes of Qingzhou). |
