Bao Guixing 1764-1826

After gaining the jinshi degree in 1799, Bao served as Right Vice Director of the Ministry of Works. As Commissioner of Education for Henan and Hubei, he memorialized the throne impeaching another official; as a result he was dismissed from office. At Emperor Jiaqing's (r. 1796-1820) sixtieth birthday in 1820, a special dispensation was granted for his appointment as an editor in the Wenyuan Ge. His poetry is collected in Juesheng shichao [Poetry of Juesheng].
