Chu Guangxi 707-760?
A native of Yanzhou, Shandong province, who obtained his jinshi degree in 726. He had been an Investigating Censor when the An Lushan rebellion (755-763) broke out, and Chu was forced to serve under the rebels in 755-756. For this he was punished after the Tang restoration and banished to southern China where he died. Chu's poetry describes the pleasure of country life and he is also praised for his gift for 'vignettes'. His works are collected in Chu Guangxi ji [Collected Writings of Chu Guangxi]. Four volumes (juan) of his poetry can also be found in Quan Tang shi.
