Deng Xian 1953-

Deng belongs to the Cultural Revolution generation. He spent seventeen years in Yunnan, first as an urban youth and then as a student and university teacher. His publications include fiction, screenplays, 'documentary literature', and journalistic pieces. His 1996 investigation of the Sino-Japanese War, Setting Sun was banned by the authorities.
