Gu Qinghai (active in early 20th century)

Not much is known about Gu's early life. He wrote the play, Zhaojun, in 1926, while he was a student of agronomy at Cornell University, but it was not published until 1936. Gu returned to China after the Japanese aggression in September 1931. His book, Jiehou Dongbei de yiban [A glimpse of the Northeast after its fall] (1934), records the conflicts in north-eastern China prior to the full scale Sino-Japanese war (1937-1945)
