Han Shaogong 1953-
Born in Hunan, Han is one of the most prominent writers in contemporary China. Having studied Chinese at Hunan Normal University and English at Wuhan University, Han is well-versed in both Chinese and western literature and literary theories. A prolific writer, he is known for his fiction as well as essays and literary criticism. His major works include the short story Ba ba ba [Dad dad dad] (1993) and the novel Ma Qiao cidian [Dictionary of Ma Qiao] (1996).
