Liang Xiaosheng
Liang Xiaosheng volunteered for military farm service before the Mao directive of December 1968 to ease his family's financial burden with the wages earned in the Great Northern Wilderness. He returned to Shanghai in 1974 to study creative writing at Fudan University. He is the author of several novels, collections of fiction, memoirs and social commentary, including The Floating City (science fiction, 1992) and Analysis of Classes in Chinese Society (1998). Liang now lives in Beijing and works at the China Youth Film Studio.
