Liu Deren

The son of an imperial princess, Liu lived during the first half of the 9th century; the exact years of his birth and death are unknown. Despite his noble birth he decided to take the regular route to officialdom and made repeated attempts at the imperial examinations, but he never gained the jinshi degree. Liu devoted himself to poetry writing and his work can be found in Quan Tang shi and other anthologies.
