Su Ye 1949-

Su was born in Hunan but grew up in Nanjing, where she received her secondary education. Before becoming a writer in 1979, she was an actress and singer with the Jiangsu Song and Dance Troupe and a script editor with the Nanjing Film Studios. She writes both fiction and poetry.
