Wang Changling 690?-756

One of the most prominent literary figures in the first half of the 8th century, Wang is best known for his seven-character quatrains, especially those on life in the border area. Wang gained the jinshi degree in 727 but held only minor government posts. He was killed during the An Lushan rebellion.
