Wang Wenxing 1939-
Contemporary fiction writer. Wang was born in Fujian and grew up in Taiwan. He received his BA from the National Taiwan University and an MFA from the University of Iowa. He is currently a professor in the Foreign Languages and Literature Department, National Taiwan University. By the time his first full-length novel Jiabian [Family catastrophe] was published in 1972, Wang Wenxing was already an essential voice in contemporary Taiwan literature both as a critic and writer. He has also published the novel Bei hai de ren [Back against the sea] and several collections of short-stories.
