Wong Yankwai 黃仁逵 1955-

Wong studied painting at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris in the 1970s and is one of Hong Kong’s most prominent painters. He is also an award-winning art director for film productions and a prolific illustrator and photographer. Wong is similarly accomplished as a poet and writer. He is a columnist for the Mingpao Weekly 明報週刊 and publishes frequently in the Hong Kong Literary Journal 香港文學. His collection of essays Taking the Air 放風 received the Fifth Hong Kong Biennial Award for Chinese Literature in the Prose category (1997–1998).
