Xin Yu [real name Fu Shin-Sen] 1933-

Born in Hangzhou. He left home and joined the army at the age of fifteen. Two years later, in 1950, he moved with the army to Taiwan. A self-taught writer, Xin Yu became a member of the Modernist School in 1956 and later took up the editorship of Epoch Poetry Quarterly. He has published six poetry collections, including Xin Yu shiji shixuan [Xin Yu: selected poems of the century] (2000).
