Xue Dan (fl. mid-17th to early 18th century)
A native of Changzhou (present-day Suzhou, Jiangsu province), Xue Dan was an important dramatist during the early Qing dynasty (1644-1911). Apart from the zaju play, Zhaojun's Dream, for which he is best known, only nine other chuanqi plays among Xue's works are extant
