Xu Jiacun

Qing-dynasty writer. A native of Shanyin in Zhejiang province, Xu was a scholar well-versed in law whose political aspirations remained unfulfilled in his lifetime. Being a contemporary of Gong Weizhai, he was presumably active during the Jiaqing reign (1796-1820). A collection of 208 letters by Xu survives, and has served as a model for letter composition in classical Chinese.
