Yang Ze [real name Yang Hsien-Ching] 1954-

Born and brought up in Chiayi. After graduating from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, National Taiwan University, he studied for a Ph.D at Princeton University. Yang made his name with his first collection of poetry Qiangwei xuepai de dansheng [The birth of the Rose School] (1977). He is currently editor of the literary supplement of China Times.
