Zhang Ji (mid-8th century)

Little is known about Zhang's life except that he was from Xiangzhou (present-day Xiangyang, Hubei province), only about forty of his poems are extant. Both traditional and modern criticism deem his poetry mediocre and it is only his short poem 'Night Moor by the Maple Bridge' ·¬¾ô©]ªy, one of the most popular Tang poems for centuries, that earned him fame.
