Zhang Xiguo (Chang Shi-kuo) 1944-
Zhang received his B.S. degree from National Taiwan University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. Widely regarded as the 'father of science fiction' in Taiwan, Zhang has published numerous novels and collections of short stories and essays, the best known being the novel Qi wang [King of chess] (1978).
