Zongpu [real name Feng Zongpu] 1928-

The daughter of the philosopher Feng Youlan (1895-1990), Zongpu graduated from the Foreign Languages Department, Tsinghua University in 1951, and worked for the Chinese Federation of Writers, Wenyi bao (The Literary Gazette) and Shijie wenxue (World Literature). In 1981 she was transferred to the Foreign Literature Research Institute, Academy of Social Sciences, where she is still a research fellow. She began writing creatively in 1956, but gave it up entirely from 1963 to 1978. Since 1978 she has received several awards for fiction.
