Chung Chi College was founded in 1951. To celebrate its 70th birthday, the College co-organizes “Chung Chi College 70th Anniversary Mascot Design Competition” with Chung Chi Student Union. It is proud to announce and invite Chung Chi students to participate in this competition.

Eligibility


  • All full-time Chung Chi undergraduates are welcome.
  • Participants can use their own name or team creation as the participating unit. Only one entry will be accepted per person. For group entry, the submission should be done by the contact person of the group. A detailed member list with the full Chinese and English names, year of study, programme of study of each member is required.
  • Chung Chi College has the final decision on the eligibility of the participants and participating groups.

Mascot Design Competition for the 70th Anniversary of Chung Chi College

Submission Requirements:

  • The design of Mascot should include relevant characteristic elements of "70th Anniversary" and "Chung Chi College".
  • Each entry must include a brief description (100-200 words, either in Chinese or English), illustrating the design concept.
  • Design file should be submitted in JPEG or PNG format with 300dpi, the file size should not exceed 10MB.
  • The front and the back views of the mascot must be shown in the entry.
  • Hand-painted entries will not be accepted. Editable digital files of the shortlisted entries will be requested.

The work should be submitted via the designated online form (https://cloud.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/webform/view.php?id=10385306) on or before January 16, 2021.


Judging Panel


1st round:
Members of the Board of Trustees, Assembly of Fellows, 70th Anniversary Celebration Organizing Committee of the College as well as invited individuals will select not more than six Mascot designs.

2nd round:
Chung Chi undergraduates and staff will be invited to vote for their favourite design from the shortlisted entries. Selection of Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up will be determined by the voting result.


Selection Criteria


Mascot Design Competition for the 70th Anniversary of Chung Chi College

  • Relevance to the theme (25%)
  • Originality and creativity (25%)
  • Characteristic and the applicability on Mascot production (25%)
  • Depth of meaning (25%)

Prizes


  • Champion (1 award): HK$5,000 and a certificate
  • 1st Runner-up (1 award): HK$3,000 and a certificate
  • 2nd Runner-up (1 award): HK$2,000 and a certificate
  • Merit (3 awards): HK$500 and a certificate

Announcement of Results

The result will be announced on the Chung Chi College’s website at the end of March, 2021. The Champion’s design may be adopted to be a real version of Mascot.

Terms and Conditions

  1. All entries must be first published and original works. The participant/ group must ensure that the entry has not been publicly published in any forms or channels, involved in any uses or submitted to any other competitions.
  2. The entry must not contain obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, objectionable, insulting or any of the controversial and inappropriate content.
  3. The entry shall not be exchanged, modified by or returned to the participant/ group after submission.
  4. Chung Chi College will own the copyright of the winning design of Mascot. The College will have the right to use, reproduce, publish, distribute part or all of the contents of the Mascot, and modify the design of Mascot in any forms without geographical, frequency and time restrictions and with no compensation.
  5. All decisions made by the Judging Panel and Chung Chi College are final.
  6. By submitting an entry, the participant/ group is deemed to accept the above terms and regulations. Any violation of the terms and regulations may result in disqualification from the Competitions, subject to the final discretion of Chung Chi College. There is no appeal mechanism in the Competitions.
  7. Chung Chi College reserves the absolute right to make final decisions in all matters related to the Competitions, including the interpretation, modification, cancellation or suspension of the terms and conditions, prizes and other arrangements at any time without prior notification.
  8. All personal information of the participant / group collected will only be used for the purpose of selection of the Competitions and related matters.
