Students
will not learn to write well unless they have to do written assignments.
However, marking of written assignments can lead to complaints of
subjectivity. This seminar introduces three criterion-based schemes
as examples of how to reduce subjectivity.
A checklist for assessing the quality of presentations.
A taxonomy for grading essays according to the quality of the structure.
A scheme for assessing written work in terms of the inherent level of reflective thinking.
