Dr Keith Thomas
Dr Keith Thomas is a Visiting Fellow at the Australian Defence College and an adjunct staff member at two Business schools in Australia. His teaching experience includes both undergraduate and graduate courses, in Australia and in programmes taught in China and Vietnam. His research interests include Leadership and Organisational Development, with a particular focus on teaching for learning. In his teaching he emphasizes a learning culture centred on critical thinking skills and student engagement by using inquiry-based approaches, small group learning (learning circles), and other forms of participative learning.

This session will begin with an interactive lecture about lecturing. Ten helpful rules for effective lecturing will be explored in the session. The Q&A section should allow participants to discuss further specific issues they have encountered and share solutions. This session is recommended for new teachers who give lectures.
