Detail: |
The seminar will attempt to show how a course presenter can support the overall goal of their respective programs and/or majors, by explaining the larger goal of their course, create outcomes for their course and discuss appropriate learning experiences and assessment options given their outcomes. Attendees should bring the syllabus for one of their courses to the session. You will be working by yourselves or in pairs and Steve will also share some examples from his own teaching. He hopes to demonstrate that rather than an additional burden for faculty, an outcomes-based approach to teaching can be a great way to conceptualize what happens in classrooms.
