Assessment should provide evidence of student learning across all the desired learning outcomes of a course. The Structure Of Learning Outcomes (SOLO) framework provides an elegant way to check the appropriateness of assessment tasks and to set up useful criteria for marking them. In the exercises in this session, issues about the reliability of marking of written work will also be explored.
