Project Objectives
The major objectives of this project include (a) the development of an online platform for survey research, (b) the promotion and dissemination of the web-based survey research materials, and (c) the support of the survey platform as an effective and convenient vehicle for teachers to design and construct questionnaires to collect students’ feedbacks in relation to teaching and learning activities.
Description of process and deliverables
There are several deliverables in this project. A comprehensive website for online survey research (http://survey_resource.sta.cuhk.edu.hk/) was established. Workshops were organized to introduce our survey platform, including the one conducted on October 19, 2006 with participants from CLEAR, together with teachers and tutors from both the Science Faculty and the Business Faculty. In addition, several courses including STA4009 (Workshop on Marketing Survey), STA6101 (Statistics for Management) and STA0201 (Workshop on Data Exploration and Technical Writing) adopted our online platform as part of their pedagogical materials.
Evaluation of outcomes
A variety of assessment tools were constructed, with the recommendations of CLEAR, comprising feedbacks from participants of workshops, suggestions and comments from users (both students and teachers in courses which applied our online materials), and the number of visits to our website.
Dissemination of results & deliverables
This project was presented in “Expo: Excellence Online” (2007) in CUHK.
