Project Objectives

  • To establish a Centre for Case Teaching and Research,
  • Consolidate case-writing and teaching efforts, and
  • Engage in new case writing.

Description of process and deliverables

  • Engage faculty in case writing and research,
  • Coordinate case listing on clearing houses’ websites and catalogs,
  • Facilitate idea exchange, and
  • Organize a Case Writing and Teaching Conference in China.

Evaluation of outcomes

Ten HK and China cases were produced and were trial run in MBA and MSc courses. Comments on content, relevancy and clarity of learning objectives were positive.

Ivey Publishing delivered a seminar in June 2008. Faculty members gained insight into selecting, using and publishing cases and discussed collaboration on HK and China cases.

A Case Research Forum co-organized by the BA Faculty and the School of Business, Remin University was held in Beijing in December 2007. Outstanding comments were received.

Dissemination of results & deliverables

Case and teaching notes for “Rehabilitation Alliance Hong Kong” and “Jadelink International” were published on Ivey Publishing and Harvard Business School websites for worldwide access and purchase. Case and teaching notes for “TeaBox “and “Ho Tak Kee” cases are in press. All cases sent to Ivey Publishing were accepted.
