Project Objectives

The project aims to enrich the University’s portfolio in addressing the QAC’s recommendation of the development and implementation of an institutional e-Learning strategy as part of its preparation for the four-year normative curriculum.

Description of process and deliverables

The process and deliverables of the project are shown as follows:

Jun 2009 Redefined project scope and reinstated tender exercise
End-Jun to mid-Jul 2009 Decided on the topics, contents and format to be used in the e-Learning Platform
Mid-Jul to Sep 2009
  • Updated and loaded the contents onto the system
  • Internal committee reviewed and verified updates
  • Introduced the platform to IBBA Year 1 students
  • Oct to Nov 2009 Rolled out the beta site to a targeted group of IBBA Year 1 students for trial
Dec 2009 Conduct online survey; data collected will be analyzed by CLEAR
    End-Dec 2009 Officially launch the e-Learning Platform (Project code:4170313)

    Evaluation of outcomes

It is expected that upon completion of the beta site of this e-Learning Platform, online survey data will be collected in Dec 2009 and fed to CLEAR to evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of the e-Learning Platform in delivering the desired learning outcomes of experiential learning when combined with classroom training.

    Dissemination of results & deliverables

It is believed that the project can fully actualize and reflect, one way or the other, the concept of OBA in teaching and learning in the light that the contents and themes of the e-Learning blocks of each stage are carefully designed with close reference to the actual learning needs of our students and the learning outcomes pre-defined by our undergraduate programmes.

Where appropriate, the relevant experiences accumulated through the development and trial run of this project may be shared with or disseminated to OSA, ITSC and CLEAR to enable further discussion on how to expand the experiential learning via e-Learning Platform.
