Project Objectives
An innovative online platform, Platform for Multimedia Educational Resources (PMER) shall be established to facilitate effective teaching and learning. PMER will host multi-media teaching cases co-created by teachers and students. This new e-learning strategy is expected to cultivate and enrich students’ creativity, application of theories and concepts, and multimedia technology skills.
Key deliverables expected and timelines for completion
Jan 2014: PMER ready to use, hosting video teaching cases from previous cohorts of students’ work, and video clips on creativity and video production
Jan 2015 & Aug 2015: New teaching cases added to PMER
Apr 2015: Seminar for CUHK teachers to promote the use of new teaching strategy to supplement traditional teaching methods
Jun 2015: Video exhibition to showcase students’ production
Sep 2015: Research study to share our experience with other academics
Arrangements for evaluation of project deliverables/outcomes
The Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) will be consulted to assist in the evaluation of the project. Two rounds of evaluation (surveys, focus group interviews and case studies) will be conducted.
Means for disseminating project deliverables/outcomes
We believe that e-learning can benefit traditional teaching. We will start with Economics and Marketing, and share our ideas with other disciplines. We shall hold a seminar for CUHK teachers to share our experiences, and run a video exhibition to showcase students’ videos to all teachers and students.
