Abstract
By collaborating with faculty members from overseas universities to co-teach and co-develop teaching materials and cases, the project aims to
- Promote Internationalization at Home (IaH) through internationalized course content and learning activities;
- Deepen students’ understanding of social issues in both local and international context, and learn how business can create social values by helping resolve these issues; and
- Enhance students’ international exposure and communication skills via collaborating with international students to solve local / non-local social issues from a business perspective
The project consists of an open lecture and a series of 5 participant-centered class meetings, co-led by faculty members from CUHK Business School and overseas universities. In the online class meetings, students will not only learn conceptual frameworks of analyzing social and business issues, but will also discuss cases developed by overseas partner teachers. They will also collaborate with peers from overseas on a team project, and will present their findings in a virtual symposium.
The project will serve the purpose of Internationalization at Home (IaH) by embedding multicultural elements in the curriculum. It will also be an ‘inbound’ Global Experiential Learning (GEL) activity, which is particularly valuable for students who cannot gain outbound experience because of the pandemic.
Brief write-up
Project objectives

Activities, process and outcomes
Project activities include collaboration on the development of teaching and learning (T&L) materials, 10 virtual case- and discussion-based class meetings co-led by faculty members from CUHK and overseas partner universities, 11 student research projects and 2 virtual symposiums.
Deliverables and evaluation
The deliverables include 4 sets of T&L materials on social and business issues, 11 case studies, 4 sets of micro-modules to support T&L activities and 4 presentations in workshops, talks and international conference. Student evaluation of the learning experience and outcomes has been excellent and it suggests that the project has successfully achieved its objectives.

Impact on teaching and learning
The T&L materials developed in the project have been very well-received by students. They do not only learn about the social issues faced by different economies and the associated business solutions, through the discussion they also understand the unique characteristics of different cultures. The project also successfully demonstrates that through close collaboration with partner universities and eLearning tools, internationalization at home can be achieved satisfactorily.
