Formation of the Committee on Campus Sustainability
The Campus Master Plan (CMP) embraces the principles of sustainable development and strikes a balance between provision for growth and enhancement of campus environment with the conservation of natural heritage.
Although the completion of the Final Campus Master Plan Report marked the end of the project, the Campus Master Planning is a process embodied in a living document. To serve its true purpose successfully in guiding the future course of growth and change in the campus, it must remain open to changing conditions and new ideas, and will require continued interest and engagement of the entire university community. Stakeholders’ contribution and participation is no less essential to that future success of the process.
To bring the CMP to action, the University has, following the dissolution of the Steering Committee on Campus Master Planning in August 2010, established the Committee on Campus Sustainability (CCS) as a subcommittee of the Campus Planning Committee to follow up a series of action plans formulated in accordance with the recommendations in the CMP adopted by the University for the campus development for the years leading to 2021. Please refer to the Campus Planning and Sustainability Office website for the composition and terms of reference for CCS.
