Definitive Stamp Sheetlet and Souvenir Booklet of "Congratulations to Professor Charles K. KAO on his award of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physics"

The Hongkong Post is issuing a Definitive Stamp Sheetlet and a Souvenir Booklet to commemorate Professor Charles Kao on his award of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physics. Part of the proceeds from sales of the Souvenir Booklet will be donated to ¡§Charles K. Kao Foundation for Alzheimer¡¦s Disease Limited¡¨. Exhibition Period Extended

The Lore of a Laureate: A Tribute to Charles Kao, Former CUHK Vice-Chancellor and Nobel Laureate

The Chinese University of Hong Kong is glad to extend the the exhibition period of ¡§The Lore of a Laureate: A Tribute to Charles Kao, Former CUHK Vice-Chancellor and Nobel Laureate¡¨ in the CUHK campus to 10 October. The exhibition was first held from early February when Professor returned to CUHK and then re-run in May. Those who still have not come to visit the exhibition should hurry and take this opportunity.

The exhibition highlights Professor Kao's lifetime of achievements as well as his legendary contribution to fiber optic communications. The Nobel Medal kindly donated by Professor Kao to CUHK is on display. Video footages of Professor Kao is shown in the exhibition, including his demonstration of optical communication technology in the 1960s, the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony, the exhibition¡¦s opening ceremony, the "Walk with Professor Kao" CUHK Walkathon, as well as some of the University activities attended by Professor Kao during his vice-chancellorship at CUHK.
