Mr Pang Yuk Wing, Joseph is an outstanding banker and community leader. After graduating from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1973, Mr Pang joined the Bank of East Asia. In 1991, Mr Pang became Alternate Chief Executive of the Bank and was promoted to General Manager in 1992. He was further promoted to Deputy Chief Executive and appointed a Director in 1995. Mr Pang assisted the Chief Executive in the overall operation and management of the Bank. Mr Pang Yuk Wing, Joseph is dedicated to community services. He has taken on various public roles including Vice-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, Chairman of the Correctional Services Children's Education Trust Investment Advisory Board, Chairman of the Banking and Finance Industry Training Board of the Vocational Training Council, Member of the Board of Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited, Member of the Leveraged Foreign Exchange Arbitration Panel, Member of the Process Review Panel of the Securities and Futures Commission, and Lay Observer of the Independent Police Complaints Council. Previously, he served as Member of the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund Board, and Member of the Standing Commission on Civil Service Salaries and Conditions of Service. Mr Pang has been most supportive to Chung Chi College and CUHK. In 2001, he served as Chairman of Chung Chi College 50th Anniversary Banquet Organizing Committee. He has also served as a Mentor of Chung Chi College since 2001, sharing his valuable experiences with students of the College. Over the years, Mr Pang has made generous contributions of his time and effort to the development of both Chung Chi College and the University, and helped extend the network of his alma mater to the community. With the staunch support of Mr Pang, the CUHK 40th Anniversary Banquet and other celebration programmes last year achieved great success.
