The frond can be a simple leaf (undivided) or a compound leaf (divided into smaller parts).
The compound leaf type includes palmate, pinnate and dichotomous.
Dichotomous leaf is forking dividing into two equal halves.
When the pinnate-like leaf is not completely divided, it is described as pinnatifid.
