Meng Jiao ©s„ 715-814
Born in Huzhou, spent his early years in retirement. After he went to the capital, he became part of a literary circle centred around Han Yu Įś·U (768”V824), which espoused ”„old virtues”¦ while widening the range of poetic subjects, eschewing poetic language, and privileging the role of poet. His poetry is known for bizarre imagery, depictions of poverty, and careful craft.
