Quah Sy Ren 柯思仁 b. 1964

Quah is a native Singaporean who did an undergraduate degree at the National Taiwan University from 1983 to 1987. He received an MA from the National University of Singapore, and later, MPhil and PhD degrees from the University of Cambridge. Currently Associate Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, he works creatively as an essayist and a playwright. His publications include several prose collections, the most recent being Wutai liangqi 舞臺亮起 [When the stage lights up] (2017), and two volumes of plays, Invisibility 市中隱者 (2000) and The Assassin, the Medium and the Massage Girl 刺客·乩童·按摩女郎 (2004).
