Yu Kwang-chung (Yu Guangzhong) 余光中 1928-2017

Yu was born in Nanjing, was a well-known modern writer, poet, scholar, and translator, and was a distinguished member of the Renditions Advisory Board. He held a B.A. degree from the Foreign Languages Department of National Taiwan University and an M.F.A. from the University of Iowa, and taught in universities in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the U.S. His works encompass multiple genres including poetry, essays, criticism, and translation; there are more than ten collections of his prose, including The Left-Handed Muse 左手的繆思 and Listen to the Cold Rain 聽聽那冷雨.
