Zheng Yin 鄭愔 (d. 710)

Zheng was a prominent literary figure in the Tang dynasty and minister at Zhongzong’s 中宗 (r. 684, 705–710) court. He was politically associated with leading women politicians at the time, including Shangguan Wan’er 上官婉兒 (664?–710) and the Taiping Princess 太平公主 (d.713). According to historical chronicles, he played an instrumental role in encouraging Zhongzong’s son Li Chongfu 李重福 (680–710) to rebel shortly after the ascension to the throne of Zhongzong’s brother Ruizong 睿宗(r. 710–712) and was executed for his role in the rebellion.
