Shaw College Debate Team Claims Victory at the Annual ：Pentagonal Debating Contest；

Congratulations to the Shaw College Debate Team for winning first place in the recent ．Pentagonal Debating Contest・ and taking home the ．Best Debater Award・!

Having survived two rounds of preliminary matches, the Shaw Debate Team gave it their best at the final of this annual event, featuring, as the name of the contest suggests, five teams from the Colleges and the Department of Government and Public Administration.


Informal Gathering with Prof. Michael Shortland

Resident Association of Kuo Mou Hall and Student Hostel II co-organized an informal gathering featuring Prof. Michael Shortland, Distinguished Visiting Scholar of Shaw College 2004/05 on April 7, 2005 in Marine View, Shaw College. The gathering started out with a sharing by Prof. Shortland on the challenges and opportunities faced by university students in the age of globalization. Prof. Shortland created an informal and interactive setting through games and group discussions. Students were enthusiastic to voice their opinions. The gathering ended after a presentation of souvenir by the resident associations to Prof. Shortland.

CUHK Waste Recycling Programme

To support the University Waste Recycling Programme and environmental protection, two recycling bins have been placed in LG3 of Wen Lan Tang and Student Hostel II for collecting used CDs and rechargeable batteries from April 11 to May 14, 2005.
