Community Service 1) Professor Kenneth Young, Pro-Vice Chancellor cum college member, has been appointed by the Financial Secretary, on an ad personam basis, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation for two years from 1 July 2009. 2) College member, Professor Zhou Xunyu from department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, has been appointed as a member of the Research Grants Council for two years from 1 July 2009. 3) College member, Professor Liu Pak-wai from department of economics, has been reappointed by the Chief Secretary for Administration as a member of the Aviation Development Advisory Committee for two years from 1 September 2009. |

United College Social Fund The objective of the Social Fund is to strengthen contact and interaction between teachers and students outside the classroom. It supports expenses of United College teaching or administrative staff members when they take United College students out for meals/refreshments for consultation and advice. The yearly budget is $1000 per staff member. Additional budget is allocated to supervisors of GEU4011, College Coordinators and Wardens. The allowance covers meals for staff and students of up to HK$100 per person each time.
