RESERVATION BOOKING POLICY & PROCEDURE | ||
GUEST HOUSE SERVICE DIRECTORY Room Types
All guest rooms are newly renovated with a private shower, toilet, wardrobe, sofa (Yali Guest House Only), chair, and desk. Each room can accommodate up to two adults.
Chiang’s Building: Standard Twin Bed (Harbour View / Peak View, approximately from 180 - 220 square feet)
YALI Guest House: Deluxe King Bed (Balcony / Harbour View/ Garden View, approximately from 280 - 470 square feet)
Check-in / Check-out Time
Check-in time: 3:00 pm after.
Check-out time: 12:00 pm before.
Late check-out will be charged as a half-day (12:00 – 6:00 pm) or full-day (after 6:00 pm) rental.

Amendments / Cancellations / Non-refundable
Amendment is allowed prior to arrival and is subject to room availability.
Cancellation is allowed 14 days prior to arrival.
No show will be charged one room night.
Room rates may vary and additional charges shall be applied during peak seasons and public holidays.
All paid rent is non-refundable and transferable. Subletting, reletting or transfer is not allowed without the written approval of the University Guest House. If found, the guest house will reserve the right to pursue claims and may be required to terminate the stay and not receive a refund.
In-room Facilities
All guest rooms are well-equipped with cold and warm frequency conversion air-conditioning, bed linen, hair dryer, safe box, kettle, and smart TV; plus a mini fridge (only available in all YALI Guest House Guest rooms).
The charge for the lost or damaged item can be obtained from the guest house staff.
Please help protect the environment by switching off the air-conditioner and all electric appliances before leaving the room.
Wi-Fi
Faculty, students, alumni, and visitors can enjoy free Wi-Fi internet service in most hot spots on campus(Dormitories, classrooms, lecture halls, libraries, restaurants, and some outdoor places) just by registering for the Wi-Fi wireless broadband service. (Personal password is provided by the department; please seek assistance from the inviting department for CUHK Guest Wi-Fi account)
Lobby’s Facilities
Self-service machines are located in the Chiang’s lobby including Vending machine, Coffee machine, and Drinking water machine (free of charge). We have an Octopus Card operated washing and dryer machine located on the ground floor behind the elevator at Chiang’s Building.

Please meet your visitor in the lobby area.
In-room / Guest House
Cooking, smoking, or any other flame equipment are prohibited in all guest rooms and public areas. Pet is also prohibited.
Personal belongings
Please take care of your personal belongings. The University Guest House and its staff shall not be liable for any loss or damage to personal properties. Safe box is available in all rooms.
Damages and Liabilities
Please keep the guest room and public area clean and tidy, and do not cause damage to the interior by using nails, hooks, adhesive tapes, etc. Please check whether all furniture and equipment in the assigned room are in good condition and report to the University Guest House Office within 1 day after check-in for any damages. Occupants/the inviting department shall indemnify the University Guest House for all damages found thereafter and within the residence period.
Security
A set of room cards will be provided (maximum 2 cards per room). If your key is lost, please report to the University Guest House Office (Tel: 3943 8138) immediately. The penalty for lost key is HKD50 each. For security reasons, please close the door tight before leaving the room. Open the door with the anti-theft bolt or check through the peephole when someone knocks.
Windows
All windows are normally locked.
Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited on the CUHK campus. All rooms and public areas are non-smoking areas. A fixed penalty for a smoking offense is HKD1,500.
Durian
Eating durian is strictly prohibited in public areas and rooms. A fixed penalty of HKD 1,500 for the unpleasant smell.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping service will be provided every day from 09:00 to 16:00. Fresh bed linen will be only changed twice a week for long-stay guests. We encourage placing towels you intend to reuse on the towel rack and those that want to be replaced in the sink. Please use the linens and towels properly. The charge for the dyed or damaged is HKD100 for linens each and HKD50 for towels each.
Housekeeping for Long Staying Guest
In order to participate in the University’s environmental protection policy and respect for the privacy of guests, Housekeeping Staff will provide room cleaning services twice a week from Monday to Sunday including changing the bedding and towels. Additional cleaning services will be available by request. Please call reception for the arrangement.
Luggage storage
University Guest House accepts luggage storage for your convenience. We bear no responsibility for money and valuable content. University Guest House will not be responsible for loss or damage due to fire, water, theft, or other causes beyond our control. University Guest House will not deliver to any person without the luggage claim check. University Guest House will store this luggage for 12 hours, otherwise, it will be charged if exceed this period.

OTHER UNIVERSITY INFORMATION Supermarket
There is a supermarket located on the LG/F of the John Fulton Centre. Business hours are from 8:30 to 22:00 (Saturday Sunday and public holidays will close at 21:00).
Transportation
The University Transport Office operates a School Bus and Shuttle Light Bus service on campus. The School Bus service is free of charge whereas the Shuttle Light Bus service is a charged service (The University School Bus service is a dedicated transportation service for CUHK STUDENTS & STAFF ONLY). If you go to the University Guest House, please take the shuttle light bus at the University Station and get off at the University Health Clinic. Turn left and you will arrive at the Front desk of the University Guest House Chiang’s Building. Please visit https://transport.cuhk.edu.hk/route/up/
If you wish to keep a car on campus, you must apply for a parking label. The regulations for motor vehicles are issued separately. Please contact the Security Office (852) 39438639 for further information.
For a taxi please get off at the University Station Exit B, the taxi station is right next to the CUHK Hospital.
The Bank
Hang Seng Bank Ltd runs a branch at 1/F Fulton Centre. For enquiry, please call 29986262. The Bank of East Asia has a branch at 1/F Pommerenke Student Centre.For enquiry please call (852) 36093790.
Canteens
There are canteens in each College, Benjamin Franklin Centre, Li Wai Chun Building and the Basic Medical Sciences Building. Food is provided and opening times vary. Please visit below link for more details.
