The symposium in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Molecular Biotechnology Programme was held on 9 January 2009 on the CUHK campus. Dr Richard Roberts, 1993 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, gave a lecture entitled "New England Biolabs – An Unusual Blend of Basic Research and Commercial Profit". Researchers from the Mainland China, U.S.A., South Korea, and Taipei have also presented their papers on biotechnology.
