To celebrate the 45th anniversary of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a series of eight public lectures will be organized between January and June 2009. The lecture series aims at spreading knowledge through exploring interesting topics, and speakers include distinguished scholars from CUHK’s eight Faculties. Topics cover the fields of medicine, literature, architecture, business administration, science, education, engineering and law. Organized in association with the Hong Kong Public Libraries, all the eight public lectures will be held at the Hong Kong Central Library.

The first lecture was held on January 3rd and the speaker was Professor Joseph Sung, Mok Hing Yiu Professor of Medicine and Head of Shaw College, CUHK. Professor Sung’s lecture was entitled “Medicine: a Science and an Art?” and the lecture has attracted an audience of over 300.
