INTRODUCTION
The Hong Kong Base of the Joint Research Institute for International Communication of Language and Culture of the Ministry of Education is jointly founded by the T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and the Joint Research Institute for International Communication of Language and Culture of the Ministry of Education. As the first Base established in Hong Kong, it aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, resource integration, research innovation, and academic exchange between the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong in the fields of Chinese Language and Communication Studies. The Base is dedicated to advancing International Chinese Language Education and enhancing the international influence of Chinese culture. Underpinning the Research Base is the T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre, originally founded in 1966 as the “Chinese Linguistics Research Centre” and recognized as one of the earliest research centres at CUHK. Currently, the Centre is dedicated to promoting comparative studies while also emphasizing the translation of the outcomes of basic research into practical applications, exploring frontiers in applied research and interdisciplinary studies.

1. Dedicated to advancing the system of disciplines, academic system, and discourse system of Chinese linguistics, contributing to the construction of an independent knowledge system in China. 2. Committed to promoting research in International Chinese Language Education and driving theoretical innovation to provide a solid foundation for disciplinary development. 3. Devoted to enhancing the global communication of Chinese culture and deepening mutual learning and exchanges between civilizations.
